Adams & Martin Group is working with a family law firm to identify a Legal Assistant or Paralegal to support a solo attorney. This temp-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented legal professional who enjoys working in a collaborative environment and is interested in supporting a busy family law practice.
* Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to one attorney
* Assist with case management and daily workflow priorities
* Work closely with the attorney to ensure deadlines and client needs are met
* Maintain organized files and case documentation
* Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and outside parties
* Support the attorney with ongoing family law matters and case progression
* Prepare, proofread, and finalize legal documents, pleadings, correspondence, and filings
* Assist with court filings and ensure compliance with filing rules and procedures
* Maintain strong attention to detail and accuracy in all work product
* Organize and manage both physical and electronic case files
* Track deadlines and case activity
* Maintain accurate records and documentation
* Assist with overall file management and case organization
* Ensure documents are accessible, updated, and properly maintained
* 2+ years of legal assistant or paralegal experience preferred
* Family law experience is required; candidates with slightly less overall experience may be considered if they have relevant family law exposure
* Knowledge of court filing procedures and deadlines preferred; willingness to learn is important
* Ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
* Professional communication and interpersonal skills
* Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach to work
* 32-36 hours per week
* Monday through Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
* Friday: 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM
